Covid-19 has proven to be testing for all companies but it’s also provided a fresh challenge on an already well established system – how do you keep your staff safe from Covid and keep collaborating?
Carbonxgen chose to close the office prior to the government lockdowns, to reassure our staff that their safety is of paramount importance. As an organisation, we were able to transition overnight from being office-based working remotely. This transition was made possible by the fortuitous development of our IT infrastructure in the months prior to the pandemic – like the rest of the world we weren’t anticipating Covid but we were prepared!
With lockdown restrictions easing, getting our staff back into the company headquarters has required new equipment, new policies, and new ways of working. Our offices have now turned into a collaborative workspace, including hotdesking banks and collaboration pods, and we have taken all practical precautions to ensure staff can return safely. With the introduction of thermal recognition before being granted access to any of the workspaces, new fresh air ventilation systems along with maximum occupancy for all areas of the building and strict guidance on social distancing, the team has created a safe workspace we can safely return to.
Carbonxgen’s health and safety provider, AJP Safety, was in the office last week to review health and safety aspects of the organisation, and noted that our Covid policy was far beyond what would be expected. AJP Safety commented
“Having visited Carbonxgen it was good to recognise that the Directors had placed robust Covid controls reflecting the government guidance and they genuinely cared about the welfare of their employees in particular their mental health.”
In addition to this, we’d been informed that our Covid-preparedness procedures for the office is the best they’ve seen.
In the journey back to normal, allowing our staff to safely return to the office is a major step for us returning back to our new normal. The management has created and implemented new health and safety measures to keep staff safe, but the biggest success has been from all staff adhering to the new policies.
Well done to our amazing team for playing your part in keeping everyone safe!
